Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using CVMax (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. CVMax is operated by Máximo Volynets, based in Portugal, and is subject to Portuguese and EU law.

2. Description of service

CVMax is a web-based resume builder that uses artificial intelligence to help users create, optimise, and download professional CVs. Features include a live editor, multiple templates, AI-assisted content generation, and PDF export.

3. Accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate information during registration.
  • One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits is prohibited.

4. Payments and refunds

  • Single Shot (€2.99): a one-time payment that unlocks one specific CV permanently. You may download that CV as a PDF as many times as you like, including after editing it. It does not unlock your other CVs.
  • Pro Monthly (€9.99/month): billed monthly. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period. No partial refunds.
  • Pro Annual (€59.99/year): billed annually. Cancellations within 14 days of the first charge are eligible for a full refund. After 14 days, no refund is issued but access continues until the end of the annual period.
  • All payments are processed by Stripe. CVMax never stores your card details.
  • Prices are shown in euros and include applicable VAT where required.

5. Your right to withdraw

As a consumer buying at a distance in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase and get your money back, without giving a reason.

Digital content is the exception, and only on a specific condition. When you buy a Single Shot unlock or a Pro subscription, the thing you bought is available to you immediately. At checkout we ask you to confirm two things: that you want us to start straight away, and that you understand this means you lose the 14-day right once we have. If you do not confirm both, the 14-day right stands and we will refund you on request.

For Pro Annual we go further than the law requires: if you ask within 14 days of the first charge we refund it in full regardless, because a year is a long time to be stuck with something that did not suit you.

To withdraw or ask for a refund, email [email protected]. Nothing here affects your statutory rights, and if we have got something wrong you can complain to a consumer arbitration centre or to the Direção-Geral do Consumidor.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use CVMax to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information in your resumes.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform.
  • Use automated tools to access the Service beyond normal use.
  • Resell or redistribute CVMax features without written permission.
  • Upload content that is illegal, offensive, or violates third-party rights.

7. Intellectual property

The CVMax platform, including its design, code, templates, and branding, is owned by Máximo Volynets. You retain full ownership of the content you create using the Service. By using the Service, you grant CVMax a limited licence to process your content solely to provide the Service to you.

8. AI-generated content

CVMax uses AI to assist in generating resume content. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any AI-generated content before using it in your applications. CVMax makes no guarantee that AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular role or employer. We do not store your personal description beyond the duration of the AI generation call.

9. Limitation of liability

CVMax is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that using CVMax will result in job interviews or offers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CVMax’s liability for any claim arising from the use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid in the 3 months preceding the claim.

10. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will endeavour to provide advance notice of planned downtime.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the account settings page. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, Portugal, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under applicable EU law.
